Ash Wednesday Service

Wednesday, February 14, 7:00 PM -  w/ Communion and imposition of ashes

What is Lent? What do we do during Lent? Why would we do anything different during Lent?

Join us for a brief service marking the beginning of this season leading up to Easter Sunday. If the whole idea of Lent is new to you, this is a great opportunity to learn why Christians have observed this season in the rhythm of the church year for centuries!

As part of the service we will serve communion and have the opportunity to participate in the "imposition of ashes" (optional). This is when the sign of a cross is placed on the forehead of repentant Christians with ashes.

Yes, we know it is St. Valentines Day, and what better way to be reminded that "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends" (John 15:13).

As always, kids are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Service Sundays

Our Service Sundays are opportunities for us to go out and serve our community as a congregation.  We plan our Service Sundays once a quarter in place of our regular worship service. Service Sundays are open to anyone who would like to join us, whether you attend regularly or not. Check out our Service Sundays page for more information.

Missional Communities

At Tidelands we have a vision of being a congregation of missional communities, with every missional community focused on living out the gospel to a particular people group within our community. Our missional communities typically gather at least once a week over a meal at a member's home. These are open to everyone and we would love to have you join us! Learn more on our Missional Community page.

New Building Tour

We purchased the original Stanwood First Presbyterian Church building for our office and worship gathering space. The building was built in 1909 and the property was sold by the Presbytery of Bellingham in the late 1920's. The purchase of the building was made possible by a generous grant by Northwest Coast Presbytery. Our first Sunday in our new location was June 7, 2015.
