At the heart of Presbyterian polity is the structure of being elder-led. Our church is governed by a group of elders, collectively referred to as our "Session." Our Pastor serves as a "Teaching Elder" and a moderator of Session. Elders are elected by a vote of the congregation and serve for 3-year terms that can be renewed once (with the exception of the Pastor, which has no term limit). We currently have a Session that consists of four active elders, the pastor as moderator, and three officers (Clerk of Session, Assistant Clerk, Treasurer). Decisions are made by a majority vote. More detailed information about how our Session operates can be found in the Presbyterian Book of Order and our church Bylaws.
Correspondence for Session can be sent to clerk@tidelands.church or mailed to our PO Box.
